Hello Friends:
The words “May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in You” (Psalm 33:22) reminds me of how crucial it is that we keep our eyes on the target, which is Christ. If we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these other things will be added to us. I was reading a book today and one of the topics was staying focused. If you shoot a gun at a gun range with your eyes closed, you are not going to do very well. In fact, you may hurt someone!
It’s obvious if you are not looking at the target, concentrating on it, while positioning yourself and then shooting the pistol, you will not be successful. This is often how we live the Christian life: unfocused. We expect things to go well, though we are not focused and disciplined in the things of God. Now I am not saying that if you seek God perfectly that nothing bad will ever happen to you or your loved ones, because things do happen. But what I am saying is that we can always look to God and hope in His everlasting arms of love no matter what! If we put Him first, seeking Him with our whole lives, our mind, soul, and strength, we can’t go wrong. There is an endless supply of help and comfort coming from above.
